3rd Saturdays at the Samuel L. Jones
​Hall Homeless Shelter

We have a team that visits the shelter in Santa Rosa every month from
1-3 pm. They bring goodies, serve coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, but most importantly, they spend time with those who are in need at the moment.

5th Sundays at The Mission

Teams from the church will go down to the Redwood Gospel Mission on the 5th Sunday evenings to lead a worship service, visit with the mission guests, and serve them dinner.
Our next service is Sunday, March 29th.

Nomadic Shelter

Done in conjunction with the Redwood Gospel Mission, churches in Sonoma County come together to open their doors one night a month during the colder months to an overflow of homeless guests to spend the night inside. FBC has committed to the fourth Friday of every month, October through April, to offer our facility and people to share a Gospel based program, dinner, and a place to spend the night. Many volunteers are needed to help provide food and spend time with the guests.

Nomadic Shelter has been cancelled for the remainder of the season.

A little bit about Jerry & Becky....
Becky and I are drawn to serve our Lord by serving His people in need through simple acts of kindness. We started by simply offering a bottle of water to people on the sidewalk in front of the Redwood Gospel Mission on a hot summer day. Then tragedy struck our family with the loss of my younger brother, John, who was homeless on the streets of San Francisco. With that loss to our family, we felt a stronger desire to do more. Because Becky is disabled with Cerebral Palsy, we desired to do work a the Gospel Mission because of the safety net they provide. With the Mission's blessing, we began serving coffee to homeless guests in the back courtyard once a month.

Because we felt that serving at the Rescue Mission was a "local Mission outreach", and a "Jesus driven" opportunity, we asked First Baptist Church for support. God answered our prayers and we found others who wanted to serve.
