Tanzania - July 2017
I, Forrest, recently received the following text messages from our partner in ministry, Evangelist Gabriel Gidale, from the AICT (Africa Inland Church Tanzania), who lives in the village of Mohedagew, Lake Eyasi, Tanzania. Let’s all pray for these believers who want to be baptized soon. They need rain to come.
December 18, 2016
“My family and I are continuing to do very well. We are progressing with our narrative Bible Storying with another missionary, Simon. I, personally, continue visiting neighboring families in their homes teaching the word of God, although recently it’s been difficult because it is the dry season. (Many people move away for greener pastures for their animals). In the next month I will teach a catechism class to those believers who desire to be baptized. We planned to baptize them within the next month but it depends on the rains. Their names are: Pendo Gabriel; Wily Gabriel; Unene; Gidamadoida Gidahuta; Samueli Yohana; Stefano Yohana; Baraka Yohana; and Surumbu Gisamageda.
In our district of churches (in the Lake Eyasi area), we have continued a building project at Barazani local church, and have reached the ring beam stage. The believers at another local church called Kisiriri meet in a person’s home. We are sending two students to Majahida Bible School to study, one from Olpiro local church and the other from Endamaghay local church. The preschool at Endamaghay is still going on but lacking teachers.

“Praise the Lord, you servant. By the grace of God here in Mohedagew we continue the catechism of the believers/students. We are planning to baptize them on the 7th or 8th of this month. Therefore, we need your prayer for this ministry.”

Gabriel sent a short text and several pictures telling with great joy and pride how they did have the baptismal service on Sunday, January 8th with 8 people being baptized. Two women, one man, one girl, and four boys in total. Praise be to God!

Details:
Ministry Focus: 2-Fold 1)Assist local AICT Evangelist Gabriel Gidale and Pastor Peter Yatoshta with VBS-style children's ministry to Datooga kids in Lake Eyasi area. This would include games, crafts, Bible story-telling with a Datooga translator, and prayer. 2)Building project of painting, laying a cement floor, and boolkshelf construciton at a local priamary school for Christian education materials. Time Frame: 12-14 days total sometime from July 1-31 window. Includes 24 hours travel both to and from Africa and SF. Cost: Between $2,400 - 3,000 depending on airfare Team Make-up: FBC WIndsor members/regular attenders; open to others from like-minded churches in our area, and the Haskins family (Forrest, Purity, Riley, and Crystal). Why?: FBC Windsor has supported the ministry to the Datooga both prayerfully and finanacially for many years and it would be fantastic to go minister to them showing our enduring expression of God's love for the Datooga people. Team Size: Between 10-15 total. Adults, young and old, as well as families with children are all welcome. Goals: 5 Total 1)Broaden the world view and heart for the mission of God among those who go from our body. 2)Continue FBC Windsor's partnership and presence in the African Continent. 3)Encourage the Haskins' partner in ministry Evangelist Gabriel Gidale who lives and works in a remote area with considerable spiritual warfare. 4) Evangelize the Datooga children and adults through songs, skits, story-telling and home visits. 5) Prayer Walking. |
